Dawn patrol Sunday am

UPAC Plattsville, Ontario Canada

Lots of planes and people arrive early to help with final preparations. The aerodrome will be open for normal operations and demo flights, and food is available on-site all weekend.
Live dinner music will be provided by Music by Firelight. Supper is followed by a movie.

Saturday is the big day with coffee starting at 6 a.m. and breakfast starting at 6:30 a.m. Seminars start at 9:00. The draw for the fabulous prizes donated by our generous exhibitors and supporters will start around 12:30. Get your tickets early (you must be present to win).

We hope to have Schnitzel on Saturday for lunch again this year. Afterwards, seminars continue until the UPAC Annual General Meeting at 3:30 p.m. There will be a pasta supper Saturday night around 5:30 p.m. with Music by Firelight again providing dinner music. After supper, another movie will be shown and at dusk, there will be a live performance featuring Music by Firelight.

Coffee is ready at 6 a.m. again on Sunday with breakfast ready at around 6:30 followed by more seminars Sunday morning at around 9:00. Things wind down around noon when pilots start heading home.

Lubitz Field is a farm strip located to the west of the Kitchener/Cambridge area of southern Ontario. The farm is about 13 air miles SW of the Waterloo Regional Airport (CYKF), about 20 air miles ESE of Stratford Airport (CYSA) and about 16 air miles NNW of Brantford Airport (CYFD). It’s about an hour’s drive west of Toronto and about 45 minutes east of London. GPS Coordinates are N43°18.3’; W80° 32.9’. The mailing address is Bright but the nearest town is Plattsville.

The physical address is 907289 Township Rd. #12 in Blandford-Blenheim Township, Oxford County.

Find it on Google Earth by typing in ‘907289 Township Rd. 12, Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.’ If you have ‘places’ enabled you should see a little airplane symbol at the airstrip. When your curser hovers over the little airplane symbol, the name Plattsville Aerodrome should come up.

There is no admission charge for visitors, exhibitors or campers. Proceeds from the draw tickets are used to offset the costs of fuel and maintenance for the chain saws, weed eaters, lawn mowers, and tractors which are used to prepare the runway, taxiway, parking and camping areas and to help offset costs of construction and maintenance of the showers and outhouses and the pay for the port-a-potties.

The event is finished.
